You really got a hold of me

As the temperatures drop, I find myself needing new hobbies since I'll be spending less time outside. The first idea that comes to mind is volunteering and after a quick online search, I've found a few potentials. 

1. Assist with set-up/tear down at a community theatre. I'm a terrible actor, but would love be able to help with the arts in some capacity. 

2. Befriend a senior. There is an assisted living center very close to my apartment and they are looking for volunteers to take seniors to beauty appointments and help with other on-site activities.

I'm absolutely tickled! In two days I'll be reunited with a few of my very closest friends in one of my very favorite cities. I'm even looking forward to the drive, which is saying a lot.

Whitney is the absolute kindest person I've ever met. I trust her with every secret. She and I have all the fun in the world together and I can't wait to laugh all weekend together!

Matthew is a riot. Any time I need to go dancing, I can count on him to be the best partner ever. We also make really hot club beats together and share an affinity for...Cher. 

Can't wait to share all the details with you guys. Hopefully I remember to take lots of photos. Let's be real, though, I likely won't. Have the best weekend, everyone!

Ohmygod! I have a HUGE crush on our very cute neibor. His name is Ben and, everything about him seems perfect but theres one small delema he's in seventh grade and I'm in 5th. My grandma says he's not to old so I'll just go with her words!

I Love Ben Judge! He is sooooo cute! I'm kinda shy around him though. What sou should I do? My best friend from Minnasota is staying a week with me. I'm glad she is here! I'm getting used to Russ. Once you get to know him he's way cool!!!!

Ben mowed the lawn today! It was a lot of fun wath watching him! He mows the lawn diffrently every time. I'm really excited for school to start. But really sad summers going to be over!! I wonder if any boys will ask me out in 6th grade? I hope so!!

Author's Note: I was pathetically in love with Ben. Like, I spied on him through the living room blinds on nearly a daily basis. At the time, he was everything I thought I ever wanted in a boy. This continued for an embarrassingly long amount of time.

For a second there I thought you disappeared...

I should have all sorts of tales to share since its been so long since my last outfit post, but alas, I do not. Just wanted to check in before bed (yes, at 9:30 p.m. - no judging).

Ok...while typing I did think of an anecdote to share. In the form of a script. It's my favorite way to share stories.

Let me set the scene - Dad and I visited my grandma in Marshalltown. Grandma lives in a retirement community. We were wandering the halls on our way back from lunch and ran into a gem of a gal and this happened:

Little old lady: (at dad and me) Are you two a married couple?
Me: NO.
Dad: No, we're just dating.
Me: (not amused...but it is a little funny)
Little old lady: Oh, I didn't know. Can I sing you a song?
Me: (as grandma and dad are walking away) Maybe later if we run into you again.
Little old lady: (disappointed, turns away and hums in the creepiest, high-pitched tone)
