Profesh Cooking with Tia

It was decided around 6:00 p.m. last night that my blog would include a cooking segment. Here are the results of my first go-round with Tia...

Stir-Fry Chicken with Garlic Sauce

What you'll need:

1.) 2 large garlic cloves, minced
2.) 1/4 cup soy sauce
3.) 1/4 cup water
4.) 1/4 cup honey
5.) 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
6.) 1 tablespoon cornstarch
7.) 1/4 teaspoon pepper
8.) 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
9.) 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into quarter size chunks
10.) Any vegetables of your choice - we used 1 yellow onion, 2 big broccoli florets, 1 red pepper

  • Combine ingredients 1-9 in a medium sized bowl and stir well
  • Add chicken chunks to marinade and mix to coat
  • Cover and refrigerate 2 hours (Tia and I were way too hungry to wait that long, so we sang some Mediacom karaoke (yeah, it's a real channel) then continued cooking. I estimate it to have been about 30-45 minutes)
  • While meat is bathing in saucy mixture, chop vegetable into large slices

  • Heat remaining oil in skillet
  • Using a slotted spoon, transfer chicken to the hot pan
  • Stir-fry about 5 minutes, then add vegetables and remaining sauce
  • Continue stirring all ingredients for another 5-10 minutes, depending on desired crispness of veggies

ENJOY! YUM!
