While rifling through some of my belongings the other day, I stumbled across my childhood diary. After reading it twice, I realized a few things:
1. I only ever cared about boys.
2. My mom and I fought a lot then made up almost immediately after.
3. I was hilarious at a young age.
4. Any decrease in writing was due to a lack of boy action or fighting with my mom.
Finding this delightful treasure came in handy at the perfect time. For a few weeks now, I've been racking my brain for the right way to share more about myself with you guys. I tried the 'Tidbits About Me' post once, but it felt a little forced. As I relived so many of my elementary and middle school experiences, I knew I had to let you all in on my awkwardness.
All misspellings from my diary have been copied in the below text - I promise that will be an important and hilarious detail throughout these posts. Also, for a bit more background, in 1996 I was in 4th grade and about to turn 10.
Enjoy...

December 5, 1996
I am so excited for Christmas. This weekend we are going to put up our tree. Tonight I have a basketball practice. Today a guy called me. He said his name was James. I don't know any body with that name.
There you have it! I'll try to post diary entries on a weekly basis and trust me when I say that things really start picking up speed around seventh grade.
Have a lovely night!

Brighter Days
Sometimes sitting like a lady isn't required.
I really hope you guys like photos, because I can't ever make the decision to narrow any of them down. It's like giving away a child.
Just noticed that I didn't provide outfit details for my earrings. I'm really not used to wearing accessories, nor can you see them well in many of the pictures. Anyway, they are from Rewind, my absolute favorite vintage store in Minneapolis.
Finally, before I head to bed, I'd like to thank everyone for the positivity the past week or so. It really means a lot and none of the comments go unread. Please feel free to email me (lmeyer213@gmail.com) if there is anything new/different you'd like to see on the site or if you have any other feedback!
Have a lovely night!

Headed to the Des Moines Art Festival in a bit - yay! I can't wait to take photos and share them with you guys.
Have a lovely weekend!

Awkward Girl
Tonight I was queen of giggles and awkwardness - it almost always takes at least ten minutes to quit playing shy girl and smile at the camera, but tonight was worse/better (depending on your outlook, taste, etc.) than usual. You guys are in for quite a treat come outtake time at the end of the month! While there were plenty of silly photos to pick from in this batch, the good ones turned out so wonderful.
I'll be honest, I'm not sure if any of what was typed above makes sense, as I'm trying to multi-task. Blogging, watching Game of Thrones, figuring out movie times, crunches, slamming my last glass of water...
One of these days, I'll treat ya'll a proper blog post about something other than my television interests.
Have such a lovely night!

Day (and night) Tripping: Clear Lake Style
I'm actually still in shock at how bunchy his man panties were.
I apologize for the blurriness of this photo, but I couldn't not share it - mom tried to stand up and walk while the boat was at a pretty high speed. She fell and peed her pants...
There are few things I enjoy more than relaxing on the lake, staring at beautiful houses that I may or may not own at some point in the future while sipping on a fruity cocktail.
Also, as I'm sure you noticed, none of these are outfit photos. I wore the same thing all weekend long and I can assure you it wasn't picture worthy.
Have a lovely Saturday!

Fibber McGee
WARNING: Photo heavy post.
Alright, so I know I promised to upload the photos from my mini vacation a few days ago, but it just hasn't been in the cards yet.
In other news...
Found the best blazer in all the land last night when Tia and I went out to the Farmer's Market. I imagine it'll be a staple in my closet from now on.
Soon I'll be starting the 30 for 30 challenge, created by Kendi Lea of Kendi Everyday - should be an interesting challenge. While I pride myself in creating interesting outfits, I'm a little nervous about this remix. During this thirty day project, I'm going to try my best not to shop. Wish me luck!
Ok, time for a nap.
Have a lovely weekend!

Reunited At Last
There was a dog approaching with his master (a woman) who I mistook for a large man...
Finally, after four excruciatingly long days, I have been reunited with my lover - wireless internet. Day one was fine, but beyond that I felt shaky and had cold sweats.
Yesterday was a very tricky day. All morning it rained and felt cold like autumn, then as soon as I put on warmer clothes and left the house, the sun came out and I was slapping myself (literally, I have hand marks to prove it) for wearing not one, but TWO long sleeved shirts. I slammed a Capri Sun to stay hydrated in the heat.
Mom and I enjoyed a short trip to Clear Lake over the weekend and I should have the photos up by tomorrow.
Hope you all missed me! Have a lovely evening!

Butt Surgery
For the past few days, I have been jokingly referring to my dad's operation as 'butt surgery' - mostly because no one explained it to me in a way where I felt comfortable passing information on to others. In all seriousness and honesty, though, I was mildly terrified thinking about my dad being operated on. We arrived at the hospital this morning around 6:00 and I spent two hours watching nurses poke and prod my brave, but visibly nervous father. Surprisingly, I held it together pretty well. At one point, when I thought dad was dozing off, I started flipping through a magazine. Not more than a minute passed when dad said, "I love you, Linds."...just as I thought I could keep my emotions in check!
A nurse wheeled him away right before I had to leave for work, but my sweet brother took over in my absence. Some hours later, I received a call that all went well and my dad was on his way home (later found out that the surgery made dad unable to control his gas. Haha!). Yay, dad! You're the best!
Hope you all have a lovely day!

Froggy Friends
A new tradition has been set in place for when I get home at night - there is a welcoming committee consisting of june bugs, lots of weird things I've never seen before and adorable frogs. Some are friendlier than other, but I'm always so tickled to see one of my froggy friends waiting at the garage door. I can't help but fall asleep with a smile on my face after chasing tiny frogs around my driveway like a precocious little kid.
This lil lady is off to bed...
Have a lovely night!
