Spud Boy Creeper

Admittedly, I did not bring the most exciting outfit options for my weekend getaway - I wanted to dress for active comfort versus style.

Unrelated...is that little boy painted in the window at least slightly unsettling or is it just me?

I'm about to go for a jog then it's off to visit some family for a Labor Day Weekend barbeque. Can't wait to spend a relaxing afternoon with my favorite people.

Sorry for the quick post, my creativity is lacking.

Have a lovely afternoon!

Weekend Getaway: Lanesboro Style (day 1)

Downtown Lanesboro

The B&B we stayed at - Inn at Sacred Clay Farm

 Cutie lunch diner downtown

Bluffs!

What the frog! It looks like he's struggling to get away, but I assure you he is not.

Mom and me - she's the best.

 BEWARE OF WHAT!

Don't eat yellow snow or mystery berries - lessons from my dad.

The magic stick we used on our hike to thwart off spider webs.

I like to make sure you guys keep your expectations of me low, so that's why this post of my weekend trip almost three weeks ago is just now appearing.

In theory, I am a bed and breakfast enthusiast. In actuality, I spend a lot of time researching them, but never going. Mom took me to the tiny, but active, town of Lanesboro, Minnesota (population under 900). It was the perfect trip for both of us!

Day one was spent mostly eating junk food in the car. Once we arrived at the B&B, we quickly got ready for a (presumably) easy hike. Here's what happened:

Mom: I really think I could just hike for a living.
Me: Yeah?
Mom: (loses footing and walks into a spider web. Yelps.)
Me: (follows suit and screams.)
Both: (laughs, almost pee pants, finds stick to double as machete and spider web terminator.)

After our raging success of a hike, we enjoyed a really yummy meal at Pedal Pushers Cafe - I enjoyed the best veggie burger with hand-cut fries. We walked off our dinner downtown, while creating a shopping strategy for the next day. Anyone else do that?

I'll likely be posting more photos within the next few days, but don't hold me to it. Remember, low expectations, people!

Have a lovely day!

Princess Belle

For the past week or so, I've found myself listening only to the Disney Station on Pandora. First, it's really addictive. Second, it absolutely astounds me that I know all the words to so many Disney songs.

Last night I decided to take my newest obsession to a mild extreme - I answered multiple online quizzes to see which Disney Princess I am. It's Belle, I'm Belle. So what if I  maybe knew how to edit my answers a bit to receive the results I wanted! Still counts! We are both smart, spirited and sassy. We are both willing to put our lives on the line to save a family member. We both have a thing for hairy men (although my interest ends beyond a bushy beard).

What Disney Princess can you relate best with?

Have a lovely evening!

Mouse Trap

For any of you who happen to follow me on Twitter, you're probably aware of the recent arrival of my new roommate - an invisible mouse. Earlier this week I ran into Belva (landlord) and while we were chatting in the hallway, I saw a mouse scurry across to a small crawl space on my side of the building. The next afternoon Pennie and I were snuggling and watching the most recent episode of Pretty Little Liars (no teasing!) when we heard a scratching noise coming from the kitchen. Pen bolted to investigate and I wasn't far behind. After searching for twenty-ish minutes, I gave up and let my kitty stand guard...

Nothing.

That night I spent far too long researching the most humane way to catch the little bugger. Well, here is what I ended up with:

Yep, that's a picnic basket, wood cutting board and toilet paper roll. I had hoped to entice the mouse with a glob of peanut butter, yet, after hours of waiting my basket is still empty.

One thing is for sure - there is NEVER a dull moment inside my apartment.

Have the loveliest of evenings!

Puppy Party

This photo has nothing to do with anything, but a co-worker brought in her five daschund puppies the other day and I snatched this guy (Willy/Wavy Gravy) up so quick. Too bad my apartment manager has a thing against dogs. I think Pennie might also have an issue with me bringing another pet into the mix.

Have a lovely evening!
